Friday night, Brad and I, along with Erin and Aaron, went over to Kyle and Beth's house in our pj's. It turns out that Kyle is a Christmas fanatic, so this time of year provided a great opportunity for some overdue hangin' out time as well as fulfiling some Christmas traditions. After enjoying our tasty delivery pizza (the greatest meal on the planet), we decorated Christmas cookies! Erin and I painstakingly developed our Christmas designs using a combination of holiday colors and sugar cookie decorations. But I guess everybody else preferred the treat over the experience, because they just slopped some icing on and started eating the dessert. As you can see, I couldn't even hold Brad off long enough to pose with his creation before he started devouring it. Oh well. The cookies were both beautiful and delicious.
After the activities, it was time to enjoy a Christmas movie. Kyle has quite a holiday collection, so it required an organized process of elimination, narrowing down, and veto-ing before we settled on National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I had never seen this classic and was anxious to check it off the Christmas Movie Marathon List. It didn't take long for me to recognize a plethora of cultural references that this film created. I mean, how many times did we refer to the sledding scene as we enjoyed the hills at Community Park growing up? It's nice to finally have a point of reference.
